UCLA Creates a More Efficient, Informed Staff - Using OrgSync to Manage Your Department

UCLA Recreation, part of California’s largest public university, needed a private, user‑friendly way to organize and communicate with more than 1,000 full‑ and part‑time employees. Existing websites were public, the shared drive was disorganized, and the department’s content management tools were not staff‑focused, making it hard to post schedules, store files, and ensure people saw required information.

The department launched a closed‑access staff portal on OrgSync that centralizes calendars, files, incident reports, internship applications, event highlights, and a daily staff log. Within a year nearly all full‑time and over half of part‑time staff were active users; the portal improved attendance at events, enabled paperless, trackable reports, streamlined hiring and review workflows, and replaced the shared drive as the single source for departmental knowledge.
