UCLA Brings Organization and Time Savings to Their Rec Sports Department With OrgSync

UCLA Rec Sports, which employs 900 students and 175 staff, manages 14,200 intramural and club participants and serves about 100,000 people per quarter across 14 facilities. The department faced cumbersome, time-consuming manual processes—one student clerk was handling more than 2,000 paper forms per fall quarter—and needed a better way to organize over 1,000 full- and part-time employees and support hundreds of club sport leaders.

By implementing OrgSync, UCLA moved more than 70 paper forms online and built a Rec Staff portal and Club Sports umbrella that centralize calendars, training, incident reports, hiring, event promotion and communications. The changes yielded several thousand dollars in estimated cost savings, grew the Club Sports portal from 400 to about 2,100 members, and allowed staff to repurpose roughly 25% of their time while providing faster approvals, clearer status tracking and improved outreach.
