Creative Automation with OrgSync’s API

Full Sail University, which serves more than 25,000 on-campus and online students, needed a way to update legacy systems and automate student portal membership so administrators could manage which portals students belonged to without rebuilding from scratch. They turned to OrgSync and its API to meet these unique needs.

Using the API, Full Sail built PuppetMaster — a custom integration (PHP, MySQL, Java) that syncs OrgSync with the student information system, applies rule-based logic, and automatically updates portal memberships (re-adding students within five minutes and auto-assigning advisors). Created in about six months by one full-time IT employee, PuppetMaster executed nearly one million operations in its first four months, showcasing OrgSync’s flexibility and scalability.
