A Ordnance Survey Case Study
Teignbridge District Council needed to speed up and modernize its Local Land Charge searches, which had been a manual process taking up to 10 days and relying on paper maps and specialist staff knowledge. Working with Ordnance Survey and using digital mapping, including OS MasterMap Topography Layer, the Council set out to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Ordnance Survey’s mapping data and GIS-enabled automation helped Teignbridge District Council cut search times to about four days, reduce the team from four staff to two, and save £60,000 per year. The council also improved service quality, reduced training needs, and made other departments more efficient through more accurate data.
