A Ordnance Survey Case Study
NHS England needed to keep healthcare services running smoothly during the Tour de Yorkshire, despite major road closures and an influx of visitors. Working with Ordnance Survey, it used OS mapping and the ResilienceDirect™ data sharing platform to help planners and responders coordinate access to urgent care, hospitals, GP surgeries, and other key locations.
Ordnance Survey helped NHS England create a zoomable map combining live and static data on the race route, healthcare sites, and partner information. The solution gave NHS organisations an easy-to-use reference tool for assessing route changes and nearby incidents, improving planning and response across the event, with plans to add more partner data to increase its value further.
