Myriad Optima Limited - Customer Case Study

The London Borough of Newham needed to log, display and share real‑time incident data across multiple agencies while two‑thirds of the London 2012 events took place within its boundary. To avoid procurement and licensing costs for high‑quality mapping, Newham commissioned Myriad Optima to build an incident management system and Extranet underpinned by Ordnance Survey data accessed via the Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA), using products such as OS MasterMap and OS Street View.

Myriad Optima implemented a BattleBaton‑based system that automatically plotted incidents (including GPS‑tagged photos) on Ordnance Survey maps, provided real‑time transmission and two‑way communications, calendar look‑back/forward, and export to other borough systems. Ordnance Survey’s PSMA datasets delivered accurate mapping with no licensing fees; the solution ran 24/7 during the 72‑day Games, enabled paperless working and inter‑agency sharing, and delivered approximately 146% ROI over the Games while producing ongoing efficiency and analytical benefits.
