Mole Valley District Council - Customer Case Study

Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) needed to improve service efficiency, reduce costs and give residents 24/7 access to local public-service information as part of a Business Process Review. To deliver a user-friendly, location-driven “one‑stop shop” the Council engaged Astun Technology and its iShareMaps suite (using Ordnance Survey data) to build the Mole Valley & Me online portal.

Astun Technology implemented a postcode-driven portal showing council tax, bin collection days, nearby planning applications, tree preservation orders, roadworks and a “where’s my nearest” search, plus intuitive ‘My Maps’ overlays. The Mole Valley & Me launch delivered a 30% increase in one‑stop‑shop usage, 1,250 extra hits and £4,000 in telephone‑interaction savings in the first month, with further channel‑shift savings projected.
