Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) needed a way to improve environmental decision-making with geospatial data that was not always accessible, complete, or consistent. To support its Abu Dhabi 2030 Environmental Vision, EAD worked with Ordnance Survey on a GIS strategy and roadmap to create a reliable “single version of the truth” for environmental information.

Ordnance Survey helped EAD develop a GIS Roadmap covering all GIS-related activities, with 52 initiatives and a structured plan for capturing, maintaining, and analysing environmental data. The roadmap was delivered in under 10 weeks and aligned with government policy and EAD strategy, helping provide accurate, reliable information, improve data quality and sharing, and strengthen EAD’s geospatial maturity and geomaturity assessment.
