A Ordnance Survey Case Study

City of London - Customer Case Study

Renew, a City of London partner, developed an innovative network of about 100 bomb‑proof recycling “pods” that broadcast on‑the‑go news to commuters. To secure planning permission, maximise passing footfall and advertiser exposure, and tailor content by location, Renew faced a complex site‑selection and data‑licensing challenge and engaged Ordnance Survey Premier Partner emapsite for detailed mapping and licensing support.

emapsite licensed OS MasterMap and multiple raster products, built a dedicated web portal and provided its Plans Ahead and Contractor Link tools so the Renew team and partners could generate site and block plans, share maps, and access licensing quickly. The solution dramatically reduced the man‑hours needed to source data, enabled live news updates across the network, improved investor and advertiser confidence through accurate geographic analysis, and has already put relevant news in front of City commuters while supporting plans to expand wireless interactivity.
