British Transport Police - Customer Case Study

British Transport Police (BTP) needed accurate, bespoke addressing and location data for railway stations, lines and depots, and faced challenges integrating evolving front‑line operations with back‑office records and a command-and-control system. To address this, BTP worked with Aligned Assets to adopt the Bluelight Gazetteer using Ordnance Survey’s AddressBase Premium as the authoritative location dataset.

Aligned Assets implemented a single force gazetteer with UPRN-tagged records to centralise address management and feed multiple systems. The solution reduced time and cost spent on manual record updates, delivers six-weekly change-only updates for up-to-date data, improved live-incident response times and accuracy of crime-location recording, and enables future real‑time data visualisation.
