Allianz Commercial faced the challenge of accurately assessing both individual property risk and accumulation risk across UK postcodes to support underwriting and pricing. To solve this, Allianz used Cadcorp SIS (along with OS MasterMap Address Layer 2 and perils data from sources like the Environment Agency and Ordnance Survey) to map insured premises, identify postcode concentrations, and combine those accumulations with flood, contaminated land and other hazard information.

Cadcorp SIS delivered an accumulation and perils assessment system—complete with bespoke Allianz hazard ratings and postcode-level accumulation data—and a Cadcorp SIS Desktop that lets managers run buffer analyses and view nearby risks on demand. The solution moved accumulation reporting from every six months to monthly, gave underwriters up-to-date exposure views to inform premiums and terms, and automatically flags excessive accumulations so Allianz can make timelier risk-management decisions.
