Orckestra Pilots IGA To The Top Of Online Grocery With Commerce In The Cloud

IGA, Canada’s largest group of independent grocers under Sobeys Inc., was operating an aging online grocery platform (dating from 2008) that was functionally limited, siloed from the corporate site, required multiple accounts, and constrained omnichannel marketing and payment options. To modernize IGA’s national ecommerce, Sobeys selected Orckestra Inc. to deploy the Orckestra Commerce Cloud and Commerce Orchestration™ to rework the customer experience and backend integration.

Orckestra Inc. delivered a cloud-based, API-first commerce foundation on Microsoft Azure with responsive front-end components, an Orchestration Console for unified order/customer management, and a Pick & Pack mobile app, fully synchronizing daily product, price and inventory data with Sobeys’ SAP systems across 85 IGA stores. The implementation doubled online assortments from 15,000 to 30,000 SKUs, enabled omnichannel features (local pricing, promotions, flyer browsing, scheduled pickup/delivery), accelerated rollout, and improved order fulfillment efficiency and customer service.
