IGA, a leading franchise banner in the Sobeys national grocery chain, needed to extend its feature-rich ecommerce beyond desktop and responsive web to reach “connected” customers on Apple and Android devices, deliver personalized offers, and launch mobile experiences quickly. To do this it engaged Orckestra Inc., leveraging Orckestra’s Commerce Orchestration™ platform and open API to build on its existing Pick & Pack solution and bring grocery shopping to mobile.

Orckestra Inc., working with IGA and partner Mirego, delivered a mobile app that reuses commerce data (profiles, shopping lists, order history), adds barcode scanning, recipe/recommendation features (via Microsoft’s Recommendation Engine), and personalized offers. The launch drove measurable results: app downloads exceeded expectations by 300%, customers spend above-average time in the app and browse many pages, and IGA now delivers unified, personalized mobile and online shopping experiences from a single Orckestra-powered platform.
