Proto, a global B2B division of Stanley Black & Decker, needed to modernize its online identity and product experience: its website was years out of date, internal product catalogs were not synchronized with the site, search and navigation were limited, and customers couldn’t create profiles or interact online in a multi-country, multi-lingual environment. Proto engaged Orckestra Inc., targeting a solution built around Orckestra’s Commerce Orchestration™ platform and SharePoint 2013 to address these gaps.
Orckestra Inc. implemented its Commerce Orchestration™ engine with daily synchronization to Proto’s Product Information Manager (via a custom enterprise service bus) and used SharePoint 2013 for content management, search and localization. The deployment enabled customer profiles, saved wish lists, RFQ workflows, and location/language segmented catalogs; marketing and merchandising teams can update content in minutes. As a result, Proto saw a significant increase in site usability, customer interactions and online profiles created, with an up-to-date global catalog that supports future B2B expansion.
