Case Study: Simprints achieves rugged, low-power fingerprint identification with OrCAD

A OrCAD Case Study

Simprints - Customer Case Study

Simprints, a nonprofit tech company from the University of Cambridge, develops an affordable, secure, rugged fingerprint identification system for harsh, less-than-laboratory environments. Facing challenges like extreme weather, low power needs, strong security requirements, and the need for flexible, low-cost design changes, Simprints turned to OrCAD for PCB and schematic design support.

Using OrCAD Capture and exploring OrCAD PSpice Designer, Simprints was able to quickly move from concept to prototype, make design changes with minimal disruption, and better meet environmental, certification, and power-efficiency goals. OrCAD helped Simprints accelerate development of its fingerprint scanner, with about 250 units already deployed in the field and more in development as the company continues to scale.
