A Orbitá Case Study
The Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH) partnered with Orbitá to address challenges in its Spinal Injuries Unit, where patients with limited mobility relied on a traditional call bell system that provided little context, no prioritization, and minimal reassurance. As a result, care teams had difficulty distinguishing urgent needs from routine requests, and some patients struggled to get help quickly or access support at all.
Orbitá implemented OrbitaASSIST in 26 beds across the acute and rehab units during a four-week pilot, training 46 care team members and 25 patients. The solution enabled patients to make verbal requests that were understood and triaged more effectively, while delivering daily metrics and weekly reports to the hospital. The pilot generated 352 patient requests and 5,002 interactions, with 92% of patients saying they would recommend it and 87% of nurses feeling more confident responding to requests; Orbitá also reported improved response times, reduced complaints about slow responses, and continued use of the solution at POWH.
