Terex Materials Processing takes the lead in telematics

Terex Materials Processing, part of Terex Corporation, needed a way to add telematics to heavy-duty crushers and screeners that operate in harsh, remote environments so customers and distributors could better monitor setup, tuning, uptime and lifecycle costs. To differentiate its offering and give distributors and end customers more value, Terex partnered with ORBCOMM to develop a tailored telematics capability for crushing and screening equipment.

ORBCOMM delivered a customized end-to-end telematics solution—cloud analytics and reporting, rugged tracking hardware and sensors, and global cellular/satellite connectivity—white‑labelled by Terex as Powerscreen Pulse and Terex Finlay T-Link. The system, now on 650+ crushers with 35–45 new activations per month, provides real-time location, hours, fuel, tonnage, cone settings and wear-rate alerts that enable predictive maintenance, reduced downtime, validated service records and improved residual value; ORBCOMM continues to add features (PT 7000/OG2 support and an advanced maintenance module) to drive further savings and insights.
