Grydd, a SaaS supply chain visibility provider, faced fragmented, delayed and often manual vessel-location data that made it difficult for shippers and forwarders to know where cargo was and to anticipate disruptions. To address this, Grydd partnered with ORBCOMM and integrated ORBCOMM’s maritime AIS (satellite and terrestrial) vessel location data into its platform.

By feeding ORBCOMM’s maritime AIS—supported by tens of millions of messages daily from hundreds of thousands of ships—into its control‑tower dashboards, Grydd now provides near‑real‑time, independent visibility of ship location and status at sea and in port. The ORBCOMM-powered solution enables earlier detection of delays and diversions, better operational decision‑making for customers, and a path to broader asset tracking as Grydd explores ORBCOMM’s wider IoT tracking for containers, trucks and trailers.
