Reefer genset innovator Genmark incorporates advanced telematics capabilities from ORBCOMM

Genmark B.V., a Dutch innovator of lightweight, fuel‑efficient reefer container gensets, needed remote intelligence to protect temperature‑sensitive cargo, reduce fuel loss and theft, and simplify maintenance while keeping its on‑unit electronics simple. To meet those challenges the company turned to ORBCOMM and integrated its XT 4760 GPRS/GSM telematics device (and associated CargoWatch application) into Genmark’s genset designs.

ORBCOMM deployed the rugged XT 4760 and CargoWatch SaaS to provide two‑way monitoring and control, geo‑fencing and location tracking, fuel‑level sensing, remote on/off capability and up to 90 days of off‑power transmission. The ORBCOMM solution gave Genmark real‑time visibility into reefer‑connected status, reduced risk of cargo damage and fuel fraud, and delivered measurable ROI through better asset utilization, more efficient maintenance and stronger regulatory compliance.
