Machinestalk, an ORBCOMM partner, was engaged by a customer to improve fleet safety for employees who travel between industrial sites. The customer required a bespoke solution with an Arabic user experience, reliable operation across areas with spotty cellular coverage, a specific VPN method, custom filters/reports, and in-country data storage to meet local regulations—requirements that ruled out off‑the‑shelf products.

ORBCOMM worked with Machinestalk to deploy an ORBCOMM dual‑mode satellite/cellular terminal (with GPS, accelerometer), integrated seatbelt sensor and immobilizer, and a customized Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) app feeding Machinestalk’s Arabic IoT platform with local data storage. ORBCOMM provided development and QA support (the AVL app saved months of development time), assisted regulatory certification, and continues lifecycle support; the solution delivered real‑time location and driver‑behavior monitoring that reduced driving misconduct, detected unauthorized use, and materially improved driver safety and security.
