Loog Guitars exceeds 1 frame per second AR accuracy with OrangeLoops

Loog Guitars, a company that builds guitars for children, wanted to create an ambitious AR learning feature for its mobile app. The challenge was to develop a computer vision system that could detect a real guitar neck through a selfie camera and accurately overlay chord markers in real time. Partnering with OrangeLoops, the goal was to move beyond a gimmick and create a tool that was accurate and useful enough for actual learning, with an initial performance target of one accurate frame per second.

OrangeLoops developed an AR feature for iOS and Android that successfully detected the guitar fingerboard and overlaid visual guidance for chord positions. The solution exceeded the original performance target, achieving better than one frame per second accuracy on iOS. The feature received very positive user feedback and provided Loog Guitars with significant product differentiation. OrangeLoops was praised for its technical execution and product-aware approach that strengthened the commercial value of the final app.
