Ziraat Bank Protects Revenue Through 60% Faster End-of-Day Batch Processing, Accelerates Introducing New Products, and Reduces Risk

T. C. Ziraat Bankası A.Ş., Turkey’s oldest and one of its largest banks with thousands of branches and millions of customers, was constrained by a fragmented IT stack that left overnight batch jobs running into the next business day. Daily processing for millions of transactions routinely finished at 6–7 a.m., creating the risk of failing to open branches and ATMs on time, incurring revenue losses and regulatory penalties, and limiting the bank’s ability to launch new products.

Ziraat Bank replaced its disparate servers, storage, networking, OS, and databases with Oracle Exadata engineered systems (multiple half-, quarter- and eighth-rack machines and an offsite DR node). The move cut the overnight batch window by more than 60% (to three hours), increased throughput to over 3,000 transactions/sec, met 99.95% availability with a zero-data-loss configuration, reduced disk usage 8x and average system utilization from 70% to 30%, lowered maintenance by 40%, and freed staff to accelerate product development while ensuring business continuity.
