Zer Merkezi Hizmetler ve Ticaret A.Ş. is the centralized procurement company for Turkey’s Koç Group, serving more than 150 affiliates across 36 sectors, working with 2,000+ suppliers and processing around 20,000 purchase transactions monthly. Faced with fragmented departmental order, shipping, billing, and financial systems, Zer needed to centralize and integrate purchasing processes, improve agility and time-to-market, reduce employee overtime and IT workload, and enable nontechnical staff to manage business rules while leveraging existing investments.

Working with Oracle Consulting, Zer implemented an enterprise SOA and BPM solution using Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Unified BPM Suite, Oracle Service Bus, BPEL, Business Rules, and Business Activity Monitoring to connect legacy systems and automate end‑to‑end workflows. The results: single transaction time fell from 2 hours to 15 minutes (85% faster), invoice cycle time dropped from 15 to 3 days (80% faster), monthly processing accelerated 8x, IT staffing costs were cut by 50%, development time reduced by 60%, and the need for IT help with business rules fell by 80%, eliminating overtime and improving cash flow and supplier-payment flexibility.
