Worthington Industries, a diversified-metals manufacturer with about 10,000 employees and 81 facilities across 10 countries, needed to consolidate financial systems, standardize manufacturing and work-order processes, and upgrade its ERP to reduce customizations and support 24x7 global operations. The company also sought faster, simpler demand planning so sales teams could spend less time on forecasts and more on selling.

Worthington implemented Oracle E-Business Suite Managed Cloud Services, upgraded to Release 12, and deployed Oracle’s Demantra Demand Management. The move consolidated finance and supply-chain processes across all sites, boosted availability to 99.8%, freed 6,300 GB of space (saving about $60,000/year), identified 51 customization-reduction opportunities, reduced IT costs and complexity, and improved forecasting accuracy by roughly 50%, enabling the small IT team to focus on business priorities.
