A Oracle Case Study
Yokeru is a London startup founded by brothers Monty and Hector Alexander after a family incident highlighted the risks faced by isolated older people. As COVID-19 spread, they saw an urgent need for remote, scalable check-ins for vulnerable residents and partnered with Hammersmith and Fulham Council to call 9,000 households starting in May 2020.
Using Oracle for Startups and Oracle Digital Assistant, Yokeru built an AI-driven automated calling system that integrates with machine‑learning and VoIP platforms while preserving privacy and avoiding medical advice. The solution costs about one‑fifth of a traditional call center, generated more than 4,000 follow-ups to council services, and has since been adopted by additional local authorities, including Westminster City Council.
