Case Study: Akbank achieves greater profitability and customer retention with Oracle Financial Services Profitability Management on Oracle Exadata

A Oracle Case Study

Preview of the Akbank Case Study

With Oracle, Akbank improves profitability and customer relationships

Akbank, one of Turkey’s largest private banks with 771 branches and over US$65 billion in assets, needed real-time insight to improve pricing, profitability and customer retention. The bank sought faster, more accurate analysis to guide daily deposit and loan pricing, identify profitable customer segments, and support longer-term operational decisions.

Akbank deployed Oracle Financial Services Profitability Management on Oracle Exadata (migrated July 2019) to deliver faster, more granular profitability reporting—cutting daily run times from seven–eight hours to about four. The solution enables FTP-based pricing adjustments, customer- and product-level profitability analysis, what-if modeling, activity-based costing, and better project prioritization; it reduced error-prone manual work and data costs by over 20% and supports more accountable, profit-driven decision making.
