Case Study: Wilson’s Truck Lines achieves 50% faster yard checks and lower IT costs with Oracle Cloud (APEX & Autonomous Database)

A Oracle Case Study

Preview of the Wilson’s Truck Lines Case Study

Wilson’s Truck Lines rolls more efficiently, cuts costs with Oracle Cloud

Wilson’s Truck Lines, an Ontario-based logistics firm operating 600+ trailers and four distribution centers, needed to modernize slow, manual yard checks and verbal radio-based workflows that produced outdated, unsearchable reports and operational confusion. An initial AWS/LAMP/AngularJS solution proved difficult and time-consuming to change, so the company sought a faster, more manageable platform.

Using Oracle Application Express and Oracle Autonomous Database on Oracle Cloud, Wilson’s built a Shunt Management app in days that halved the time for daily yard checks—workers now scan barcodes with handhelds and capture geotagged, time‑stamped, searchable data in real time. The self-managing database reduced admin and development costs while improving availability and security, and responsive APEX dashboards deliver faster reporting and better visibility for resource allocation and demand forecasting.
