Western Sydney University, a metropolitan research university serving more than 44,000 students across six campuses and online, needed to modernize its on‑premises Oracle E‑Business Suite (R12.1.3). The university's goals were to migrate to a flexible, cost‑effective managed cloud to support projected user growth, ensure high performance and 24/7 availability, reduce data‑center maintenance and IT staff workload, and leverage Oracle expertise and best practices for ongoing upgrades and security.

Western Sydney moved its E‑Business Suite to Oracle E‑Business Suite Managed Cloud Services (hosted in Oracle’s data center) using Oracle’s CEMLI migration service. The change cut data‑center operating costs by 40%, eliminated hardware investment, completed the migration 14 hours sooner than expected, and improved performance, availability, and security. IT resources were freed to focus on innovation, students and staff gained more reliable access to critical services, and the university strengthened its competitive and technology‑leader position.
