West Tree Service, a 75-year-old tree removal company serving utility clients, faced time-consuming manual back-office processes—tracking employee certifications, safety audits, training, fleet and project management, timesheets, and field communications. Key challenges included ensuring certifications stayed current for contract compliance, maintaining safety records and training effectiveness, and managing fleet location and repairs to protect assets and improve field productivity.

Using Oracle Cloud Database and Oracle APEX, West Tree built a Crew Management System (CMS) with modules for certifications (deployed in 30 days), safety audits and training videos, fleet GPS and maintenance, timesheets, and field communications. The CMS automated workflows, reduced administrative labor and costs, improved compliance, reporting and payroll integration, and continues to expand functionality (next: foremen timesheet entry) to further boost productivity and safety.
