A Oracle Case Study
All-Russia Research Institute of Automatics (VNIIA), a ROSATOM research and manufacturing institute specializing in nuclear-material control, safety and R&D, faced the need to maintain 24/7 uptime, secure sensitive information, and consolidate multivendor systems and multiple database versions while automating manual diagnostics and reporting to boost IT productivity.
VNIIA deployed Oracle Enterprise Manager and Oracle Database (with partner CROC) to unify monitoring, diagnostics and reporting across heterogeneous hardware and software. The solution cut database administration time and effort by up to 70%, reduced data-collection time by about 20%, enabled real-time diagnostics and fewer administrators, lowered costs, improved agility for module deployment and decision-making, and prepared the environment for a move to Oracle Database 12c.
