Visy, a Finnish specialist in gate automation and access control for ports, rail, and industrial logistics, needed to move its data-heavy Access Gate application off on-premises servers to improve scalability, cut infrastructure costs, and shorten developer testing and deployment cycles. The company also wanted to reduce time spent on database administration so engineers could focus on product development and to ensure the solution would be cost-effective for smaller customers.

Visy migrated to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Autonomous Database (including Autonomous Transaction Processing and Oracle Visual Builder), gaining superior price-performance, scalable storage and compute, and simplified maintenance. The move accelerated development and testing, shortened time to production, enabled processing of more than a million mission-critical events per day, improved reliability and security, and made deployments more cost-effective—helping Visy expand its customer base and concentrate on innovation.
