Using Oracle Cloud, onthelive brings remote learning to the masses

onthelive, a South Korean edtech company, offers an interactive real-time video learning platform for remote classes, lectures, and presentations. As it looked to expand beyond South Korea, onthelive needed a more scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure than its on-premises environment, which could support only about 10,000 concurrent users.

Using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle NoSQL Database Cloud Service, and Oracle MySQL HeatWave Database Service, onthelive centralized data, improved performance, and made content easier to search and manage. Oracle helped the company scale to 200,000 concurrent users, a 20X increase, while achieving 3X better price-performance than competitors and supporting faster, more reliable remote learning.
