University Health Network boosts efficiency with Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer

University Health Network (UHN), a leading health and medical research organization in Toronto, needed to refresh aging hardware supporting critical patient information and HR systems, while also reducing the heavy maintenance burden of managing more than 1,000 databases. To address these challenges, UHN turned to Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer and Oracle Zero Downtime Migration.

Oracle implemented Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer in UHN’s data center to improve database performance, automation, and flexible capacity while supporting security and compliance needs. By consolidating 1,000-plus databases down to 200, UHN saved maintenance time and cost, improved uptime and performance, and enhanced quality of service for staff.
