United States Distilled Products Improves Product Quality and the Customer Experience with Financial Management and Manufacturing Process Automation

United States Distilled Products Company (USDP), a 300‑employee bottler in Princeton, Minnesota, produces and distributes its own alcoholic brands nationwide. Facing dependence on a distribution partner’s financial system, time‑consuming manual data rekeying, and paper‑based processes, USDP needed to automate pricing, quality control, expense approvals, enable EDI ordering for distributors, and adopt an ERP that could scale without heavy customization.

USDP deployed Oracle E‑Business Suite Release 12.1.3—including Oracle Financials, Process Manufacturing and Quality, Advanced Pricing, Order Management, Demantra, and Mobile Supply Chain Applications—to integrate financial and manufacturing processes. The solution eliminated rekeying, cut paper use with workflow notifications, enabled EDI ordering and barcode scanning to speed fulfillment (shipping within two weeks), provided lot traceability for recalls, ensured accurate contract pricing and shipping controls, improved forecasting, and allowed the company to add capabilities without extensive customization.
