Ukrtransgaz, Ukraine’s state gas transport operator, moves billions of cubic meters of natural gas annually to domestic customers and European markets. To support growing demand and standardize operations across 17 business units and 111 sites, the company needed to consolidate its IT estate and improve application performance and storage to better serve 6,000 professional users and its SAP ERP system.

Ukrtransgaz deployed Oracle SPARC Enterprise M9000 and SPARC T4-4 servers with Oracle Solaris and Oracle Database, and implemented Pillar Axiom 600 multi-tier storage plus StorageTek SL500 for backup. The integrated solution delivered Tier‑4 availability (>99.995%), higher application performance and storage efficiency, full compliance with national data-security standards, and on-demand scalability—enabling a homogeneous environment and projected cost savings (admin 20–30%, IT maintenance 15–20%, procurement and dead stock 5–15%).
