Preview of the UAE Ministry of Finance Case Study

UAE Ministry of Finance Establishes Common Financial Standards and Intelligence, Benefiting Public Sector Services and Financial Policies

The UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF) oversees fiscal, monetary, and financial policy for the federal government and needed to consolidate disparate financial data from government and public sector entities onto a single, secure database. The ministry also required high availability and fast failover between production and disaster-recovery sites, seamless integration of heterogeneous IT systems to produce timely, accurate financial statements, and tools to analyze spending, investments and savings to support policy and reporting obligations.

MoF implemented a federal financial system on Oracle technology with ongoing Oracle Advanced Customer Support, deploying Oracle E‑Business Suite on Oracle Database, Oracle SPARC servers, Solaris 11, Active Data Guard and Oracle SOA Suite. The result was a unified, secure platform that simplified procurement and financial processes, reduced infrastructure and maintenance costs, delivered 24/7 availability through active-active replication, automated consolidated reporting for international compliance and credit assessments, and continues to receive proactive operational support and architecture guidance from Oracle ACS.
