Case Study: Tiger Brands achieves unified ERP, streamlined operations, and reduced total cost of ownership with Oracle

A Oracle Case Study

Preview of the Tiger Brands Case Study

Tiger Brands Streamlines Businesses Ranging from Bakeries and Mills, to Baby Food and Confectionery

Tiger Brands Limited, a leading South African fast‑moving consumer goods group built through decades of acquisitions, operated dozens of brands and 15 distinct business units across multiple countries with many disparate ERP systems. The company needed to consolidate onto a single IT platform to standardize sales, ordering, manufacturing and procurement processes, enable shared services, improve sales-and-operations planning, and add catch‑weight functionality for variable‑weight products.

Working with Accenture and Oracle, Tiger Brands unified its businesses on a common Oracle ERP platform (E-Business Suite R12.1.3 and related modules), executing a 250‑task cutover in 96 hours to minimize disruption. The consolidation delivered single‑login visibility across all units, shared financial services, lower total cost of ownership, faster cross‑training, improved forecasting and inventory control, and operational synergies that strengthened decision‑making across the group.
