Thomson Reuters rolls out ONESOURCE with zero downtime on Oracle Cloud

Thomson Reuters needed to modernize its ONESOURCE global tax platform to better handle rapidly changing tax rules across 205+ countries and territories while improving security, scalability, and uptime. To support more than 10 billion annual tax transactions, the company extended its multicloud strategy to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and chose Oracle Autonomous Database to replace more maintenance-heavy on-premises systems.

Oracle implemented ONESOURCE on Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing, along with OCI Kubernetes Engine, OCI Functions, Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP integration, and security and backup tools like Oracle Data Safe, Cloud Guard, and OCI GoldenGate. The result was millisecond data processing, automatic scaling and zero-downtime operations, plus the elimination of about 6 to 12 hours of monthly downtime for patching; Thomson Reuters also reported lower-than-expected costs and plans to move its global trade offering to Oracle Autonomous Database.
