The Royal Dutch Touring Club ANWB Validates Assistance Services Contracts Five Times Faster

The Royal Dutch Touring Club ANWB is a 140-year-old, member-driven mobility organization in the Netherlands that provides roadside, medical, legal, insurance and travel services to over 4 million members and handles more than 1 million breakdowns a year. ANWB needed a single source of truth across multiple systems to ensure consistent contract pricing, validity and serviceability, speed up business-rule maintenance and shorten the time required to validate complex customer and B2B assistance contracts.

By deploying Oracle Policy Automation (with the Siebel connector) ANWB centralized about 500 business rules and automated contract calculations and validations. Time-to-market for new assistance and insurance products fell from nine months to three, contract-validation latency dropped from 10 seconds to 2 seconds, rule-change cycles shortened from six months to two weeks, and ANWB achieved 24-hour annual renewal processing for 4 million contracts—while improving case handling, B2B contract accuracy and eliminating error-prone Excel workarounds.
