Suguna Foods Improves Control of Poultry Farm Production, Completes Month-End Closes 1.75x Faster, and Saves US$32,700 in Data Storage

Suguna Foods Ltd., a leading Indian broiler producer operating a contract-farming model across 20,000 farms, needed to modernize and integrate ERP processes across hatcheries, feed mills, farms and pharmaceutical units to support rapid growth. The company faced challenges in gaining enterprise-wide visibility, accurately calculating batch-feed costs to reduce waste, eliminating risky cash payments to farmers, and expanding storage capacity to handle growing financial data.

Suguna upgraded to Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3 and deployed Oracle Advanced Compression, standardizing processes across 150 branches and automating pricing and payments. Results included 99% accuracy in daily feed volumes (up from 80%), month-end closes 1.75x faster (four days vs. seven), compression of financial data from 1,200 GB to 500 GB (60% more capacity) and US$32,700 saved in the first year, plus reduced feed waste, fewer cash transactions, improved supplier and customer deliveries, and stronger production control.
