Stolt‑Nielsen, a global provider of integrated transportation, storage and distribution for chemical and bulk liquid products, needed to boost HR efficiency and transparency across its tanker, terminals and container businesses. The company faced fragmented systems, manual compensation and performance processes, limited manager visibility for workforce and succession planning, and a heavy administrative burden on HR and employees.

Working with Deloitte to deploy Oracle HCM Cloud, Stolt‑Nielsen unified HR processes, automated performance, leave, headcount and variable‑pay calculations, and launched self‑service for about 2,000 non‑seafaring employees. The change reduced HR processing time by 50%, cut external IT support effort by 80%, removed one HR FTE, automated payroll and bonuses, and improved succession planning, manager visibility and employee engagement.
