Sociale Verzekeringsbank (the Dutch Social Insurance Bank) Boosts Adoption of New IT Solutions Through Comprehensive Training

Sociale Verzekeringsbank (SVB) is the Dutch government agency that administers national insurance programs—serving 6–8 million citizens and paying about US$51 billion annually. Because accurate entitlement determination and on-time payments are critical, SVB faced the challenge of replacing a unique, high-risk IT environment and updating business processes without disrupting essential services.

SVB implemented eight Oracle solutions (including Siebel CRM and Fusion Middleware) and used Oracle University learning credits for a customized training program: a two-day overview for all staff followed by role-based, modular courses with immediate on-the-job application. The approach accelerated adoption, minimized operational disruption, improved operations management and efficiency, and helped lower execution costs while enabling better service to Dutch citizens.
