A Oracle Case Study
Skyhigh Networks is a leading Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) that helps enterprises detect and manage thousands of cloud services and extend traditional controls like DLP and auditing to sanctioned cloud apps. Rapid growth and complex customer environments created a need for on-demand, zero‑CapEx proof‑of‑concept (PoC) labs and systems‑engineer (SE) training that could run unmodified VMware appliances, scale on demand, be templatized for reuse, support full network topologies, enable easy collaboration with prospects, and incur only usage‑based costs.
Skyhigh adopted Ravello on AWS and Google Cloud to meet those needs: Ravello’s nested hypervisor and networking overlay let them run existing VMs and VMware appliances unchanged, reproduce customer network topologies, provision browser-accessible “labs in the cloud,” and templatize environments with blueprints for fast reuse. The result was faster, lower‑cost PoCs and SE onboarding, shortened sales cycles, reduced lab setup effort, and a standardized, usage‑based platform for the majority of Skyhigh’s customer demonstrations.
