A Oracle Case Study
Skanska, a global construction and development company, faced complex financing, tracking, and reporting challenges across countless data sets—from banks and suppliers to live project data. The firm needed two solutions: a self-service financial reporting system for global users and a Sanction List process to verify banks and counterparties against international sanctions. Key requirements were automation to reduce IT burden and intuitive self-service for business users.
Skanska implemented Oracle Analytics, Oracle Integration, and Oracle Database Cloud (with machine learning) to connect 23 data sources, automate routine tasks, and enable self-service reporting. The financial reporting solution went live in 17 days and cut report preparation from 1.5 days to under five minutes (a 4–6× productivity improvement). The Sanction List now matches over 2,000 profiles quickly, while Database Cloud auto-scales for faster loads and cost savings—reducing risk, lowering costs, and empowering business users.
