Sisal, a leading Italian online and offline gaming and betting operator, needed a more flexible, reliable, and affordable cloud infrastructure to support its Oracle Hyperion Planning and Oracle Hyperion Financial Management applications. Its previous setup on Microsoft Azure caused reliability issues and high costs, making it harder to support the company’s growing digital business and financial planning needs.

Oracle helped Sisal move most of its web-based services and data to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), using OCI Kubernetes Engine, OCI Functions, Oracle Cloud Lift Services, and Oracle Consulting to complete the transition in about three months. As a result, Sisal improved performance and service reliability, sped up web interfaces and application integration, and cut total cost of ownership by 50% versus Azure, while also supporting continued growth and a 34% year-on-year revenue increase since 2016.
