Silver Diner to Lower Cost of Workstations, Optimize Revenue, and Boost Productivity

Silver Diner, a 15-location American restaurant chain known for farm-to-table ingredients and healthier diner classics, needed to modernize its point-of-sale systems to support a new upscale “Silver” brand. The company wanted workstations that matched the brand’s sleek design, reduced total cost of ownership, improved staff productivity, and enabled better outdoor/patio and carryout service without disrupting operations.

Silver Diner piloted Oracle MICROS Workstation 6 and MICROS E-Series tablets as a mobile complement, gaining a streamlined, convertible solution that’s intuitive and easy to train on. The pilot—heavily used at a deli counter with more than 10% carryout—generated positive feedback on appearance and usability, is performing well, and is expected to lower TCO, simplify scaling and replacement, and be rolled out to new Silver locations and existing sites as legacy systems reach end of life.
