Shifa Hospital team builds remote care app, eShifa, with Oracle

Shifa International Hospital, a major tertiary care hospital in Pakistan, needed a more reliable and cost-effective way to ensure business continuity as its IT dependence grew. It also needed a secure cloud foundation to support its new remote care app, eShifa, during the surge in COVID-19 cases. Shifa International Hospital turned to Oracle and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to address both challenges.

Oracle implemented Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as a disaster recovery site for the hospital’s on-premises health management system and provided the cloud platform for the eShifa app, supported by Oracle Database Cloud Service, Oracle WebLogic Server, and OCI GoldenGate. The result was stronger compliance, continuity, security, and scalability, while cutting CapEx for disaster recovery by more than 50% and reducing upfront investment through elastic, consumption-based services.
