Serpros sees 90% cost reduction after migrating to Oracle

Serpros, the Brazilian pension foundation that manages retirement plans for about 14,000 SERPRO employees, needed to modernize its aging on-premises environment and reduce server costs as part of its move toward becoming a fully digital organization. The company’s systems were split across two physical servers and more than 20 virtual machines, creating pressure to improve mobility, access, and efficiency. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Database Cloud Service were selected after performance tests showed strong response times and data handling.

Oracle migrated Serpros’ servers to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in just one week with no interruption to operations. As a result, Serpros achieved a 90% reduction in operational costs compared with upgrading its own hardware, while also enabling secure digital decision-making from multiple devices and seamless remote work during the pandemic.
