Santa Casa de Marília boosts performance, reliability, and security with OCI

Santa Casa de Marília, a Brazilian charitable hospital serving public and private patients, needed a scalable, cost-effective infrastructure to support growing medical records, heavier compute and memory demands, and stricter data protection requirements under Brazil’s LGPD. The hospital turned to Oracle, using Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to modernize its on-premises environment and improve security, privacy, and scalability.

Oracle implemented a migration to Exadata Cloud@Customer and OCI, with support from partner Harpo Tecnologia de Dados, moving critical ERP and internal applications to the cloud. The result was faster database performance, more reliable availability, and much quicker backups—cutting backup time from 16 hours to just minutes—while improving data analysis speed and giving the seven-person IT team more time for strategic work.
