RN-KrasnoyarskNIPIneft Establishes Seismic Information Repository for One of the World’s Largest Oil and Gas Companies

RN‑KrasnoyarskNIPIneft, a 300‑employee R&D subsidiary of Rosneft based in Krasnoyarsk, built and operates the Corporate Center of Seismic Information Repository to collect, process, store, and deliver seismic survey data for Rosneft and its subsidiaries across 11 Russian time zones. The organization needed to standardize geophysical data formats, ensure continuous high‑availability and legal compliance, provide primary visualization and analysis tools, and handle very large file transfers while reducing manual workloads.

KrasNIPI deployed an integrated Oracle solution—Oracle Database (storing ~500 TB and scalable up to 10x), Oracle Spatial and Graph, Oracle WebLogic/MapViewer, Oracle Solaris, Oracle R Enterprise, and Oracle Active Data Guard—plus a two‑tier cloud architecture and 17 automated modules. This enabled continuous automated data intake, fast processing and on‑the‑fly visualization via thin clients, online ordering and SEG‑Y delivery, reliable 100–500 GB file transfers, reduced personnel tasks, and certified compliance with Russian information‑access rules.
